Cowichanians Cough Up Guns

More than 2,000 rounds of ammunition and 70 firearms were turned in to North Cowichan/ Duncan RCMP during a month-long gun amnesty program that ended last week.

Most surrendered weapons were long guns with some handguns as well. One sawed-off shotgun was surrendered along with a handgun believed to date from the First World War.

"Cowichanians."

It sounds like a race of alien bovinids from the original Star Trek series. I wonder if "coughing up" is part of the cud chewing process?

In any case, expect to see violent crime now plummet.
