From The WNU Editor: The previous night I had watched the movie Gandhi for what is probably the tenth time. The part of the movie that always strikes me was the movie's depiction of Hindu - Muslim hatred, particularly the scene in which two separate refugee groups going in opposite directions on a road decide to go to war against each other .... even though both sides are strangers, everyone still goes all out to kill the other group.

This is what we have been witnessing again in Mumbai. Mumbai is not only the success story of India, but it's future. While Pakistan decays from a culture filled with political corruption, economic stagnation, continuous tribal wars and terrorism filled with religious and ethnic intolerance .... Mumbai has become the symbol of the opposite side and the direction that it is going.

This symbol of success cannot be tolerated nor accepted by the Muslim fanatics who planned, trained, and conducted this attack. For Mumbai's success will only mean that their philosophy and beliefs are not only wrong .... but their own moral certainty that Islam is the wave of the future will be put in doubt.

As the bodies are buried, the grieving are comforted, and the planners for this attack are tracked down and captured .... there is something else that worries me greatly. This attack confirms what I have been always been fearful of .... of all the countries in the world who are most susceptible to a nuclear terrorist attack .... India has always been on the top of my list.

Its borders are very porous, it has a large and significant Muslim population who feel that they are being continuously discriminated against, and it also has a very active terror underground with deep ties to Pakistan's ISI and other Pakistani groups that may also include those who are responsible for guarding Pakistan's nuclear arsenals.

In Mumbai today, bullets and grenades were used .... tomorrow .... something worse could certainly be used. This weeks attack could be an indication of far worse things to come.
