A legislator who has been pushing to legalize the carrying of guns in state parks says he now wants to block the mentally ill from buying weapons.But you want 'em out buying gasoline, fertilizer and box cutters, Frank? Nicely done, Frank. You appear to be another gun rights supporter with a big "but."
"Right now, you can get out of a mental institution in the morning and buy a gun that afternoon," said Rep. Frank Niceley, R-Strawberry Plains. "I'm a so-called gun nut, and I think that's just wrong."
Either a person is a danger to himself and others--in which case, he needs to be in custodial care--or he isn't--in which case, he poses no danger.
