My Comment: From the rumors of 911 ringleader Atta meeting Iraqi intelligence officers, there has always been talk of Saddam Hussein's connections to elements of Al Qaeda. But only scraps of evidence have since been made public of these links and connections.
I suspect that as Iraq starts to stabilize, the Iraqis themselves will start to do an analysis and a search among Bathist archives for letters, money transfers, and confidential meetings and strategy that were conducted by Hussein's officials and Al Qaeda elements during that time. Unfortunately, that search is still way in the future.
