Somehow, Emmons' gun went off...

"It accidentally went off, that's pretty much it," Emmons said...

"As I was starting to get on the trigger, the gun just went off," he said.

Maybe it was nervous?

At least in this case, he was aiming in the direction of a target and preparing to fire.
