WASHINGTON, Nov. 13, 2008 – Coalition forces killed one terrorist, captured four suspected terrorists and detained six additional suspects during operations today targeting al-Qaida in Iraq's financial, explosives and leadership networks, military officials reported.
Terrorist funding networks in northern Iraq were disrupted today by two coalition force operations. During the first operation near Hawijah, southwest of Kirkuk, one man was killed by forces targeting a Tamim province al-Qaida financial operative. Coalition forces were led to a residence in the area after reports suggested the man was located there.
