WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama's incoming administration is unlikely to bring criminal charges against government officials who authorized or engaged in harsh interrogations of suspected terrorists during the George W. Bush presidency. Obama, who has criticized the use of torture, is being urged by some constitutional scholars and human rights groups to investigate possible war crimes by the Bush administration.
Two Obama advisers said there's little—if any—chance that the incoming president's Justice Department will go after anyone involved in authorizing or carrying out interrogations that provoked worldwide outrage.

My Comment: Torture works .... to a point. After 9/11 it was accepted that rules were to be bend, which they probably were. The U.S. population were demanding answers, and the men who were positioned to defend us went into action .... with the president and Congress knowing what they were doing.
If trials and public hearings were to be commenced (which in my opinion they will not) .... we will probably find a number of senators and congressmen in the witness chair. A situation that no one in authority wants .... Democratic or Republican.
