KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- President-elect Barack Obama has given Afghan President Hamid Karzai assurances that the United States would send more aid and pay more attention to his war-torn country during his administration, according to Karzai's office.
Obama and Karzai spoke by phone Saturday, Karzai's office said.
A statement issued by Karzai's office said Obama told him the United States was committed to helping the people of Afghanistan and bringing peace and stability to the country.

My Comment: This is the clearest indication yet from President-elect Obama that Afghanistan and Pakistan's is now the front on the war against radical Islam. And he is right.
