Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Fighters dressed in Rwandan uniforms crossed the border into neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo and backed a rebel attack in North Kivu province last month, said four witnesses.
Rwanda has denied the Congolese government's allegation that it is backing fighters loyal to rebel leader Laurent Nkunda. Rwanda's intervention in previous rebellions in Congo contributed to two civil wars in which at least 4 million people died, mainly from disease and starvation.
Nkunda's National Congress for the Defense of the People, or CNDP, carried out an offensive in North Kivu between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29, in which it advanced to within 10 kilometers (6 miles) of the provincial capital, Goma.

My Comment: If true .... this war has escalated ten fold. Angola is bringing in troops. U.N. forces number 17,000 .... and will be increased. Militias are arming themselves. The other neighboring states will probably get involved or will take sides within the next few weeks.
