Dec. 6 (Bloomberg) -- India’s government lowered the death toll from last week’s attacks in Mumbai to 163 as it acknowledged a “lack of coordination” in the response of security forces to the assault.
The city’s disaster management unit had put the toll at 195 and no explanation was given for the revision, announced yesterday by Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram.
