Concern Over GITMO Detainees Returning to Terrorism Stalls Adjudication

What, exactly, Barack Obama intends to do on January 20 regarding the known and suspected terrorists who are detained at Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) remains a matter of considerable debate, not only among pundits, but among the people Obama has selected to make up his national security team.

Obama pledged during the campaign to promptly shut down GITMO, and transition officials assured Monday that he intends to issue an executive order as soon as he sets down at his desk in the Oval Office.
