
SEOUL: North Korea is demanding that the United States readjust its focus in multilateral talks on ending the Communist state's nuclear weapons program, insisting that it will never give up its nuclear arms before Washington normalizes relations with Pyongyang.
Coming a week before President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration, the statement from the North Korean Foreign Ministry issued late Tuesday was widely seen as North Korea's first official message to the incoming U.S. administration.
