The Obama Administration Finds A Bomb In Iran -- A Commentary

Most political blog readers will remember the storm of controversy that erupted in early December 2007, when a new American “National Intelligence Assessment” claimed that Iran had stopped development of a nuclear weapon in 2003. The New York Times wrote that “[rarely], if ever, has a single intelligence report so completely, so suddenly, and so surprisingly altered a foreign policy debate here.” Blogs exploded.

My Comment: The mainstream media did not do any followup on this story. The smaller military and defense oriented blogs (like WNU) did report on the story .... and did report on the double standard that is now being applied to President Obama. But that is it.

This story is going to be buried (if not already) for the simple reason that it does not follow the template that the left has developed for Iran and it's nuclear program. What is interesting about the L.A. Times and the Obama Administration is that somewhere a decision was made to publicize the story. The real question is why ... and why now?
