My Comment: I have always felt that the decision to leave Iraq was more based on politics than what is the reality on the ground .... and what is the reality on the ground is the need for a long term U.S. military presence for the next 5 to 10 years (At a minimum).
But U.S. military limits and lack of public support back home means the opposite is going to happen. The outcome of this decision is being felt in Iraq right now .... and I can only expect more violence and low intensity conflict to continue for the next few years .... if longer.
