Attorney General Eric Holder was testifying Thursday at a Senate hearing where he faced questions from lawmakers about his plans for closing the Guantanamo Bay detention center by January 2010.

Attorney General Eric Holder tried to reassure worried lawmakers Thursday that no Guantanamo Bay detainees thought to be terrorists will be released into the United States.

Holder testified at a Senate hearing on the Obama administration's budget for the Justice Department.

"We don't have any plans to release terrorists," said Holder.

My Comment: There was one sticking point that AG Eric Holder did not answer at today's Senate hearing which is .... Guantanamo detainees cannot legally be brought to the U.S. because federal law bars entry to anyone who has received terrorist training.

The only way that these prisoners can be brought into the U.S. is to change U.S. law. Do the Democrats have the courage to do that .... hmmmmm .... I have my doubts.
