The excellent blog Manoeuvre in Maritime Asia picked up an interesting photograph from a South Korean Website of a PLAN Type 022 patrol boat in an interesting position. Blogger Mingi Hyun speculates it could be a hybrid fast attack craft/submersible. This advanced technology appears, at least for now, exclusive to the PLAN and apparently designed to confound think tanks and the bean counters of potential adversaries.
