From Foreign Policy Blog:Retired Army Gen. Jack Keane, the godfather of the surge, struck me as heapum optimistic about Iraq. "There will not be a systemic rise in violence," he predicted. "The security situation is manageable."
Keane, a straight shooter, also said that Saudi Arabia has been "absolutely outrageous" in undercutting Iraqi economic development. He didn't offer details.

My Comment: I said the same thing last fall .... and I hope that we are both right. But as I had mentioned yesterday, the Iraq people must be tired of war, and that with the Americans leaving this is now an opportunity to start to live and enjoy life. Let us all hope that they take it.
