Colombia Warns Venezuela Not To Meddle In Internal Affairs -- El Universal

“We have never had a position that could be seen as an interference in the internal affairs of other countries,” said Jaime Bermúdez, Colombia’s Foreign Minister

Colombia asked Venezuela and other Latin American countries that have criticized an agreement between Colombia and the United States not to meddle in its internal affairs. The Minister of Foreign Affairs defended the agreement allowing US troops to use Colombian military bases.

The statements of Colombia's Foreign Minister, Jaime Bermúdez, occurred after the Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez announced that he would order a review of the relations with Colombia since he considers that a greater US military presence in the region poses a threat to his socialist project.
