British Soldiers Forced To Dye Their Own Camouflage Gear In MoD Blunder

The latest British soldier to die in Afghanistan was trying to retrieve the body of a dead comrade.

Private Jason Williams, from the 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment, was killed on Saturday after an improvised explosive device was detonated as he tried to retrieve the body of a fallen Afghan soldier.

His death adds fuel to the arguments of critics who say that British troops are fighting without proper equipment, the latest claims focusing on soldiers being flown to the front line by helicopters which lack the armour plating their crews demanded.

My Comment: 196 British soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since the invasion in 2001. I sometimes wonder (with all of the snafus that have occurred) .... why this total is not double (or more).
