From Big Government:

One of my favorite features of the Newseum in Washington, DC is the daily display of newspaper front pages from around the world. Today, Canada’s National Post was a standout with Alex Spillius’ coverage of a clash between Presidents Obama and Sarkozy.

For reasons yet to be determined, the National Post appears to have de-linked their own front page story on their website. Mr. Spillius reported a similar (albeit watered-down) version in the UK’s Telegraph.
Obama: “We must never stop until we see the day when nuclear arms have been banished from the face of the earth.”
Sarkozy: “We live in the real world, not the virtual world. And the real world expects us to take decisions.”
The rest of Sarkozy’s remarks were, well, remarkable:

My Comment: As regular readers of this blog know, I am a Canadian who lives in the Province of Quebec. Every morning at 6:00 AM I always go through the same routine. I check the wire services, read about a dozen papers, scan a dozen blogs, and then read the Canadian media.

It was only the Canadian media that covered President Sarkozy's blunt and open criticism of President Obama's call for disarmament .... a criticism that was clear and right on every point.

I did not post the story right away because I was hoping that the U.S. media would pick up on it, and elaborate more on what President Sarkozy said. But nothing was reported .... nothing covered. The story does not exist.

The French media in France covered the story, as well as some English papers .... but (again) nothing from the American media. With the exception of the web site Big Government .... this story is dead, which is a remarkable feat when this is a story that should be on the front page of every major publication.

The debate on what to do with Iran and its nuclear weapons program is an important one .... but what good is the debate if the American media refuses to cover the positions and points of view that our own allies have on what President Obama is trying to do.

Hmmmm .... if you ask me, this debate is very one sided and reinforced by a very lazy but compliant media.
