Leaders Could Ink START Replacement Next Week, Report Says -- Global Security Newswire

U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev might meet in Europe next week to sign a deal that would replace the now-expired Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, according to Agence France-Presse (see GSN, Dec. 10).

Both leaders are expected to attend an already under way climate summit in Copenhagen, Denmark, but they would sign the new nuclear arms control pact "in another European capital," one source told the newspaper Vedomosti.
