8 Americans Dead After Suicide Bombing At U.S. Base In Afghanistan -- New York Daily News

A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest attacked a U.S. base in eastern Afghanistan late Wednesday, killing eight Americans, military officials said.

The attack happened at Forward Operating Base Chapman near the district of Khost in Khost province.

There were conflicting reports about whether the bomber walked into the dining facility or the gym. CNN said the casualty toll ranged from five to nine people.
