You Can Run, And You Can Hide, In France's Elite Fighting Force, The Foreign Legion -- The Scotsman

WHEN Corporal James walked in on his fiancée sleeping with another man, he threw him through a second-storey window and beat him with a car wrench until the police arrived.

Aged 22, the former US Navy radio operator was facing seven years in jail for a brutal, and by his own account, frenzied assault.

But on 8 March, 2007, three days before he was due to stand trial, he packed a change of clothes and some cigarettes, said goodbye to his family in the US and flew to Paris to start a new life.

Today, he is on his third operational tour of Afghanistan – but this time with the French Foreign Legion.

My Comment: This type of life is only limited to a few .... to wash your hands of your past and to start a new life elsewhere .... as I said .... this type of life is only limited to a few.
