Obama: No Plans Yet For U.S. Troops In Yemen, Somalia -- Washington Post
President Obama said he has no plans at the moment to send troops to Yemen or Somalia, even though both countries harbor elements of the al-Qaeda terrorist network, because he prefers to help the governments of those countries deal with that threat.
Asked about Yemen in an interview Friday with People magazine, Obama said, "We've known throughout this year that al-Qaeda in Yemen has become a more serious problem." He said "the same is true in Somalia, another country where there are large chunks that are not fully under government control and al-Qaeda is trying to take advantage of them."

My Comment: President Obama may say no troops .... but I would bet there are numerous military trainers and contractors, special forces, and CIA personnel in the middle of that soup.
