Obama Announces Elena Kagan As His Choice For Supreme Court -- L.A. Times

The U.S. solicitor general was the first female dean of Harvard Law School. Kagan's limited public record could come under fire by Senate Republicans.

President Obama on Monday said he would nominate Elena Kagan, the U.S. solicitor general, as the 112th justice to serve on the Supreme Court.
