Polls Open in British General Election -- Voice of America
Polls have opened in Britain's general election, in a race which is expected to be one of the closest in decades.
Prime Minister and Labor Party leader Gordon Brown faces the possible loss of his seat, ending a 13-year run of his party in power. Opinion polls show the opposition Conservative party, led by David Cameron, with a slight lead.
But those polls also indicate neither Labor nor Conservatives can win enough support for an outright majority in parliament.
