My Comment: This agreement is a good sign .... and it formalizes what has been happening between the two countries since the early 1980s.
When I was in China in 1988 I stayed in Fujian Province, a province that is across from Taiwan. Even then .... Taiwanese businessmen were in China, and were involved in business deals and transactions. I am not surprised by these transactions .... family ties run both ways, and even though politics may separate governments, they do not separate families, peoples, and the flow of money.
