The F-35 business plan is finished.
The idea, as sold to Congress years ago, was that the F-35 would be affordable; that it would be a model procurement program, and that it would be built by the thousands; economy of scale and all that rubbish.
Since 2001, the program has lost well over 1000 F-35 production slots. Take a look at the following chart.

My Comment: These stats hurt .... and yes .... the F-35 business plan that was pushed for years is now DOA.
