Afghan Suicide Attack Was Planned From Insurgent's Prison Cell -- The Telegraph

A suicide attack on a supermarket popular with expat shoppers and only yards from the British embassy was directed by a jailed insurgent commander from inside his Afghan prison cell.

Talib Jan ran a suicide bombing unit from within the Afghan government’s maximum security prison, according to the country’s intelligence service.

His associates in the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network posed as his relatives to receive their orders during bogus family visits.

Up to 14 people died in the assault on Finest Supermarket in the Wazir Akbar Khan neighbourhood which houses many embassies and Western offices.
