Tornados Break The Siege Of Ajdabiya: Rebel Fighters Joy As City Is Saved From Gaddafi's Troops By British Jets -- The Daily Mail

At the gateway into Ajdabiya yesterday – a city that has been under siege and bombardment for ten days – I witnessed every emotion a people’s war can bring.

Rebel fighters euphoric at a victory they had not dared to dream about; terrified residents venturing out cautiously to see if their liberation was real; bewildered children who had been hiding from Colonel Gaddafi’s bombing, understanding nothing of the conflict, but picking up spent bullets as if they were toys.

And an old man in traditional Libyan dress courteously asking if anyone had seen his son, kidnapped from the family home by Gaddafi’s soldiers two days ago.
