My Comment: My first dog was a stray that followed me home when I was 11 years old. My parents wanted to get rid of him, but I stuck to my guns. 14 years later .... when he passed away .... it truly felt that a family member had died. For the soldiers in these outposts .... a dog is sometimes your best friend .... a lesson that I learned a long time ago.
