U.S. Announces Plans To 'Tap' $30bn Fortune Seized From Gaddafi To Fund Libyan Rebel Fighters -- The Daily Mail
The United States is preparing to 'tap' the $30billion fortune it seized from Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi - to fund the rebels bidding to depose him.
US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton made the startling revelation as 22 nations and international organisations met in Rome to thrash out a way of helping the ill-armed Libyan insurgents.
They say they need up to £3billion (£1.8 billion) in the coming months for military salaries, food, medicine and other basic supplies.
