Marines Celebrate Service's 236th Birthday -- North County Times
Happy Birthday, USMC.
Thursday is the 236th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Marine Corps, a day celebrated by the nearly 60,000 Marines stationed in San Diego County and all Marines past and present with parades, ceremonies, formal balls and a traditional cake cutting.
At the Fallbrook Veterans of Foreign Wars post this week, former Marine and Vietnam War veteran Dermott Barry said it's a special day for all Marines.
