David Cameron meets British Tornado pilots at the Nato base in Kandahar

David Cameron's Surprise Christmas Visit To UK Armed Forces In Afghanistan Disrupted By Sandstorm -- The Telegraph

Arriving in Afghanistan to pay tribute to the UK's armed forces, the Prime Minister was forced to land in Kandahar after a duststorm prevented his flight landing at Camp Bastion.

After being diverted from Helmand, Mr Cameron instead met with Royal Air Force pilots and groundstaff of Tornadoes based in Kandahar.

The trip comes as the Prime Minister faces a row over pay and pensions for the Armed Forces.

Today, the Daily Telegraph reported that senior defence chiefs have accused Mr Cameron of breaking the Military Covenant by cutting the pay of the Armed Forces.
