Assad’s Government Rejects Arab League Calls For Him To Step Down -- Washington Post
DAMASCUS — Syria on Monday rejected the Arab League’s wide-ranging proposal to end the country’s 10-month crisis, saying the call for President Bashar al-Assad to leave office after a unity government is formed amounts to “blatant interference” in Syria’s national affairs.
Syria’s state-run news agency, SANA, said Damascus considers the plan “a violation of international sovereignty,” and the latest turn in an international plot against Syria.
