New External Spine 'Takes the Load Off' -- Military.com

Infantry soldiers may soon wear a harness with an external spine that bears the heavy loads of ammunition, batteries, water and other combat necessities they carry into battle.

The Integrated Support Exospine is a rigid yoke-belt system that is designed to redistribute the weight of heavy combat equipment so it’s much more comfortable to carry over long periods of time.

My Comment: I hate carrying stuff around .... so I can imagine how the soldiers feel carrying their loads. In short .... any type of "support" will be a big plus out in the field.
