What they never seem to establish is what understanding the respondents actually have of the issue, and who told them what they "know."

The NRA, if it truly means to stand its ground against the real remaining issue coming out of the no-crisis-left-unused moment of Newtown, ‘universal background checks,’ needs to be more vocal as to why they should not be imposed on the individual citizen, or if so, how that would work to not result in recordation. Both of these approaches would serve to forestall the avalanche of the Bill of Rights amnesiacs and media encouraging of a generalized policy; one that they know, once enacted, will allow the unelected wonks to write the rules.
