The United States Army doesn't want any more tanks, but Congress does. Congress is still devoted to spending the nearly $500 million in taxpayer dollars to fund more Abrams tanks for the Army, but senior officials have said they don't want them. The Daily Mail reported on Sunday, April 28, 2013, that the Army feels the money could be better spent in other places.
Bother Republican and Democratic lawmakers are in support of the tanks and they have devoted nearly half a billion of taxpayer money over the past two years for new versions of the tanks. The new Abrams tanks are said to each be 70 tons of improvements.
