Senegal Sends Troops To Border With Guinea-Bissau After Mutiny

DAKAR, Nov. 24(Xinhua) -- Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade on Sunday ordered the deployment of troops along the border with Guinea-Bissau where renegade soldiers launched a pre-dawn attack at the presidential residence after election results were published.

The president also informed the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) of the decision to send troops to border areas, according to an official statement broadcast by state television. Both Senegal and Guinea-Bissau are members of the ECOWAS.
