Army's Unmanned Capabilites Advancing -- Aviation Week

The U.S. Army's use of unmanned aircraft is getting increasingly sophisticated, with deployment of the MQ-1C Gray Eagle, development of bi-directional payload datalinks and ground-based sense-and-avoid systems, and demonstration of large-scale manned/unmanned teaming and damage-tolerant flight controls.

Briefing reporters at the opening of the AUSA show in D.C. today, Col Gregory Gonzalez, program manager unmanned aircraft systems, says the second four-aircraft Gray Eagle quick-reaction capability (QRC) system was deployed to Afghanistan in September and is now setting up.
