TRENT Thompson spoke for the nation yesterday when he said there was no joy in the news of the Bali bombers' deaths. But there was relief.

"It hasn't bought anyone back. Everyone is still dead," said Mr Thompson, vice-president of Sydney's Coogee Dolphins football club, who lost his brother, Clint, and five clubmates. And for fellow member Erik de Haart, the executions signalled: "We can close this chapter of the book, and move on a bit."
