BANGKOK (AFP) – Thousands of Thai protesters surrounded parliament on Monday, which they aim to seal off in a "final battle" to topple the government, protest leaders and witnesses said.

Demonstrators began leaving Government House -- the prime minister's cabinet offices which they have occupied since late August -- early Monday and marched toward the nearby parliament building in Bangkok's historic district.

"Will we go to parliament? Today they discuss constitution amendments. Can we let it happen? Can we let the parliament meet?" cried a protest leader on the back of a truck as thousands of supporters followed cheering "No!"

My Comment: This will not be the final battle .... but it will be a battle. The problem in Thailand is the absence of consensus and compromise in the political process, which is now manifesting itself on the streets.
