Which is why this bit of news is so encouraging: The MV Faina (pictured), that Ukrainian vessel carrying 33 armored vehicles that was seized by Somali pirates in September, is finally being released, after a ransom was paid. Pirate spokesman Sugule Ali wouldn’t say how much the ransom was, but you can bet it was in the millions of dollars. Just details remain. “Our members are very tired and the crew are also very tired. We all want this matter to be resolved,” Ali told AFP. “We were very lenient during the discussions because the community in the area was putting pressure on us to release the ship, especially the elders.”
