From Yahoo News/AP:LONDON – Joblessness and poverty are a more potent source of tension between Muslims and wider European and U.S. society than religious differences, one of the first major studies of Muslim integration since the Sept. 11 terror attacks claimed on Thursday.
Attacks by Islamic extremists on the United States and European capitals such as Madrid and London have sparked debate on whether a failure of Muslims to integrate into Western society has fueled extremism.

My Comment: In the weeks after 9/11, the same discussions and ideas were branded about. Poverty, discrimination, alienation, intolerance (from the west) .... these were all the reasons that were bandied about after 9/11 .... and I guess they are being bandied about now.
Unfortunately .... when one looks at the 9/11 terrorists .... what we see are men that were well educated, financially secure, and coming from secure and stable families. They did not plow airplanes into buildings because of poverty, discrimination, or lashing out at hatred from the West. They did it for Islam and Jihad.
It is not poverty that is fueling tensions with the West, it is religion and the culture of the West that is unacceptable to most Muslims that is creating this chasm. Visit any Muslim ghetto in Europe .... this sense of intolerance will be felt right away.
