The American Civil Liberties Union has sued the CIA and other government agencies to get documents it says may show links between the Bush administration and a program of harsh interrogation techniques.
NEW YORK -- The American Civil Liberties Union has sued the CIA and other government agencies to get documents it says may show links between the Bush administration and a program of harsh interrogation techniques.
The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in federal court in Manhattan. On Monday, CIA Director Leon Panetta said releasing documents about the agency's terror interrogations would gravely damage national security.

My Comment: This is President Obama's problem now .... will he use his executive authority to stop this .... or will he permit this to go forward.
I think his instincts are to let the ACLU get the documents .... but the adults that are around him are sensitive on what will be the consequences of such a document release, and are now going public on making sure that this does not happen. They are clearly concerned .... and afraid.
