Wounded Hero Lands Chinook Helicopter In Afghanistan -- The Sun

THE moment a hero Chinook pilot was shot in the head during a rescue mission in Afghanistan has been captured in footage obtained by The Sun.

Our video below shows Flight Lieutenant Ian Fortune, 28, battling to save the 18 men on board his £30million helicopter.

In clips seen for the first time, he is heard calmly telling his passengers: "Just to let you know, I took a round through my front windscreen which came up and hit me in the head.
