Having endured years of struggle under Taliban rule, she gained employment with UNICEF in 2002 as a child-protection officer after the fall of the hard-line regime. In 2005, she followed on that success by winning a seat in the Afghan parliament, where she was among the first women to take a leadership role.

My Comment: She is a survivor .... no question about that. But she has a very long way to go before becoming President.
