My Comment: I lived in Fujian Province in 1988. Across the coast was Taiwan, and while China and Taiwan relations were sour, peoples from Taiwan were always visiting the province, and the people in China were happy with this exchange. And this all happened 20 years ago.
Today .... Taiwan is just a distraction to China. China's concern is the economy, reliance on foreign energy resources, and their conflict with separatist forces in the east. Taiwan is just a minor issue .... as to an armed conflict .... that will never happen.
